In 2004 the Prothonotary’s office collected $94,277.01 in restitution.
In 2005, we handled 125 juvenile cases and 684 criminal cases. Our crime rates have definitely been affected by the heroin problem that exists here in Mifflin County.
When restitution is collected it is done through the prothonotary’s office. Patti Burke is in charge of all collections for costs, fines and restitution. She can be reached in the Prothonotary's office at (717) 248-8146. It is the victim’s responsibility to keep their address and phone numbers up to date with both the Prothonotary’s Office and Crime Victim Services Office. Crime Victim Services must have proof of their loss before any hearing or sentencing.
Office of the Victim Advocate maintains all the victim’s requests for notification of inmates release and paroled notifications on inmates that are housed in a state correctional facility. Victim’s may call to check on the inmates status at any time. The Office of the Victim Advocates phone number is: 1-800-563-6399.
