Heating Assistance

Step 1:

Contact LIHEAP at your local County Assistance Office to apply for LIHEAP Cash Grant Funding.                                    

Mifflin County:   (717) 248-6746

Juniata County: (717) 436-2158

LIHEAP is a grant based program to help low-income families pay their heating bills. The grant is sent directly to the utility company to help pay for your heating expenses. You must meet specific income guidelines to be eligible.

 

Step 2:

If you run out of LIHEAP Cash Grant Funding then apply for LIHEAP Crisis Grant Funding.

The LIHEAP Crisis Grant is available to help low-income families who are without heat or in danger of losing their main heating source. The crisis program sends a grant to the utility company to help pay for more heat or to repair the broken heatng source. You must meet specific income guidelines to be eligible.

If you were not eligible for LIHEAP Cash or Crisis Contact: Citizen's Energy Oil Heat Program   Phone: 877-563-4645 or 800-JOE-4OIL

Citizens Energy has partnered with CITGO to work with thousands of oil heat providers and local fuel assistance agencies to provide a one-time delivery of 100 gallons of heating oil to eligible families.

Energy Bank is a part of the programs offered by the Coaltion of HOPES. Energy Bank is only available during the heating season.
