About Us
  • The District Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer for the county in which he is elected.
  • He prosecutes all criminal cases as representative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • The District Attorney or his designee may appear and assume the prosecution of any summary case or preliminary hearing at the magistrate level.
  • Once charges are bound over to the Court of Common Pleas, the District Attorney assumes the prosecution of the case until the case is resolved through a plea, acceptance into the ARD Program, bench or jury trial or dismissal of charges.
  • No case can be withdrawn from prosecution without the approval of the District Attorney.
