Mark J. Remy serves as the First Assistant District Attorney in the Mifflin County District Attorney’s Office. The First Assistant District Attorney is second in command in the District Attorney's Office and acts as the District Attorney in his absence.
Mr. Remy maintains a caseload of serious cases he prosecutes personally including drug prosecutions. As the District Attorney's representative on the Mifflin County Drug Task Force, Mr. Remy works closely with Chief County Detective Craig E. Snyder in directing narcotics investigations. He also oversees all county detective investigations and investigations involving consensual wiretap interceptions. Mr. Remy represents the District Attorney's Office on the Mifflin County Treatment Court and the Mifflin County Juvenile Drug Court. Prior to his current position, Mr. Remy was an Assistant District Attorney.
Mr. Remy serves on numerous non-profit boards. Currently, he is Secretary of the Board of Directors for Mifflin County Youth Baseball, a member of the Board of Directors for Mifflin County American Legion Baseball, and a member of the Investment Committee of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Mr. Remy also served as President of the Mifflin County Bar Association. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.
Mr. Remy received his law degree from Widener University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Delaware. He is a graduate of Top Gun XVI, a week-long school for prosecutors and investigators held at the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center, Fort Indiantown Gap, presented by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and the Pennsylvania State Police.
A resident of Lewistown, Mark lives with Amy, his wife, a Reading Specialist with the Mifflin County School District, and their sons, Max and Thomas. Mr. Remy also maintains a private practice with the Lewistown law firm of Knepp & Snook, focusing on municipal and school law.
