Everyone lives in a watershed. Water is all around us; as vapor in the air; in the soil; as a layer beneath the soil called “ground water”; and as surface water such as lakes, streams, and rivers. Our lifestyles have a big impact on our watersheds. Water is a universal solvent, so chemicals emitted into the air fall to the ground in rain, and chemicals we put on the land, filter into the soil and can eventually reach the water table- a source of drinking water for many Pennsylvanians. A healthy, clean watershed is necessary for a safe living environment for both humans and all other living things. Watersheds interconnect, so remember,
