About Our Office

Magisterial District Judge Jack E. Miller was elected in 2005 for Magisterial District 58-3-01. The Magisterial District Judge term of office is six years. Mifflin County currently has three Magisterial District Judges. Judge Miller's Office covers the following areas in Mifflin County:

  • Borough of Lewistown Wards 1 through 5
  • Borough of Juniata Terrace
  • Township of Granville
  • Township of Bratton
  • Township of Oliver
  • Borough of McVeytown
  • Township of Wayne
  • Borough of Newton Hamilton
  • Borough of Kistler

The following types of cases are filed at Judge Miller's office:

  • Misdemeanor and Felony
  • Summary Traffic & Non-Traffic
  • Landlord/Tenant & Civil – up to $12,000 claim amount

Judge Miller also performs marriages and arraignments, including arraignments of people for other counties or arraignments of fugitives from justice. Search warrants are issued through his offfice as well as emergency protection from abuse orders.​
