Lewistown Bypass
The Bypass project is the improvement and construction of nearly 12 miles of highway and ramps in Mifflin County, including the new Electric Avenue interchange for Routes 22/522 and 322.  Construction began on the more than $135 million project in 2000, with the first of three construction sections.  Most of the highway was opened to traffic November 21, and the entire Bypass is expected to be open in the fall of 2006, when the full Industrial Drive Interchange is completed.
Lewistown Narrows
The Route 22/322 Lewistown Narrows Project involves the reconstruction of about nine miles of Route 22/322 in Mifflin and Juniata counties and the roadway's interchanges with Business Route 22 and Arch Rock Road. A new four-lane highway is being built along the existing two-lane highway alignment, which lies between the Juniata River and the foot of the Shade Mountains.
