The Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts is the keeper of records and responsible for all filings, civil and criminal, which include: Divorce Compliants; PFA's; Custody Compliants; Petitions; Road Docket Matters, such as Eminent Domain and Declaration of Taking. The Prothonotary is given orders authorizing the issuance of bench warrants for civil and criminal matters. The office also issues oaths, writs, and passports. Everything is of public record except Juvenile and Mental Health records. The Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts collects criminal cost, fines, and restitution, fines for PFA's and court ordered evaluations and costs that my be imposed by the judge. |
